TORN CURTAIN PUBLISHING was founded by Anya and Jeff McKee in 2019. The TCP imprint has come to represent books that read delightfully, carry a compelling message, and add value to a contemporary conversation. The symbol of a windmill or turbine alludes to the harnessing of ideas, wisdom and stories that may seem beyond our reach yet have the ability to enhance the lives of others. As such, TCP titles carry an element of inspiration or originality, backed up by personal lived experience. TCP is a global brand for a worldwide audience, and it draws together voices from New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada and beyond, as they all participate in a wider conversation.
WILD SIDE PUBLISHING was founded in 2014 by Janet and Ray Curle. In its decade-long history, WSP has served New Zealand writers and strengthened voices that deserved to be heard. The wild stallion imagery speaks to the capacity of every person to shake off what has held them back and step into all that is waiting for them. How much easier it is to truly be free and fully alive when there is a community surrounding us, communicating hope and faith, and spurring us on. In December 2024, Torn Curtain acquired Wild Side, releasing Ray and Janet to their new responsibilities with the Arapohue Retreat, where they oversee a healing and recovery centre. Torn Curtain welcomed the existing WSP authors and continues the strong tradition with fresh new titles under this imprint.
